VB-VL Commodore Astra Power Steering Pump Installation Guide

This guide covers the installation of an Astra electric power steering pump using the ATR bracket for VB-VL Holden Commodore vehicles. Follow the steps below for correct fitment, line routing, and system setup.

 Pre-Installation Notes:

-Designed to use:  Bump Tube Adaptor Fitting - M16 x 1.50 To -06AN for high pressure line from pump.

-Maximum recommended front wheel diameter- 25”

-VN–VS fitment possible with removal of factory sheet metal around the battery tray area and use of custom sheet metal.

Installation Procedure:

 1. Remove rear bolt from driver side bumper iron.

2. Remove all 4 x M8 bolts from front sway bar to chassis clamps and allow sway bar to hang.

3. Install power steering pump into bracket and secure using 3 x M6 nuts. Tighten firmly.

4. Position pump and bracket assembly onto chassis rail.

5. Install supplied M10 x 25mm bolt through front of bracket into existing bumper iron mounting hole. Leave loose.

6. Raise sway bar into position and install supplied M8 bolts, clamping the bracket between the chassis rail and sway bar mount.

7. Repeat sway bar mounting process on passenger side, using supplied spacer plate.

8. Once all components are aligned correctly, tighten all fasteners securely.

9. Route high-pressure and return lines along chassis rail and connect to rack and pinion.

10. Ensure all hoses are clear of moving components and heat sources.

11. Wire power steering pump as required.

12. Fill system and bleed. Check for leaks and proper operation.
